What countries are at greatest risk from climate change?



The countries expected to experience an "extreme threat" from climate change are in the darkest blue. Why are the patterns on this map such as they are? The full report that this recently published map came from can be found here.

Doctors Issue Warning about Climate Change

A new article published on the BBC web site indicates that "failure to agree to a new UN climate deal in December will bring a "global health catastrophe", say 18 of the world's professional health organizations." The December "deal" they are referring to is the UN Climate meeting to be held in Copenhagen, where nations will come together to attempt to set targets for emission reductions.

An interesting link

A lot of you are apparently interested in natural disasters. Given that this is a Geography course, I thought I would provide you with an interesting link to a site that maps out the present distribution of a variety of disasters, from earthquakes, to tropical storms, health threats and wildfires...there are loads of links from the Global Disaster Watch site.
